Aqua Blasting costs;- Here at M.S.B we charge an hourly rate for aqua blasting as we believe it is a fair and normally very cost effective way for the client.
Others seem to charge by the component part cost and make extra charges for paint removal, this is all inclusive of our costs, all we ask is for you the client to make sure it is free of grease and oil.
At some of the prices I have seen on the web sites a single engine barrel to remove paint, degrease and then blast will cost you a staggering £56.00.
Our charges for instance the average time to clean a single cylinder barrel on average is under 1/2 an hour and will cost around £25.00 inc vat.
NOTES:
Please remove any grease or oil residue before delivery, in some cases a non acid based chemical dip may be required to remove stubborn paints before the blasting process, this DOES NOT effect the metal in any way.
Aqua-blasting provides light rust and scale carbonizing, oxidizing, paint removal.
The process is applied using graded spherical glass beads in our high performance aqua-blasting machine which simultaneously degreases and provides rust inhibition.
With the Aqua blast process there is NO IMPREGNATION or damage to sharp edges and precision surfaces.
The blast process is not only one of the fastest, efficient and economical metal cleaning and finishing systems, it totally eliminates health and environmental hazards associated with strong chemicals and dust associated with other conventional methods.
NOTES: Please remove any grease or oil residue before delivery, in some cases chemical dip may be required to remove stubborn paints before the blasting process, this DOES NOT effect the metal in any way.
We will not blast complete engines, unless the client understands and accepts the risk of damage to internal moving parts. (this is not recommended and should be avoided)
Components that have been blasted require a post-treatment prior to assembly. Rinse and air-blast all components after treatment but it is the responsibility of the customer to ensure all precautions are taken to reduce any possibility of media entrapment prior to assembly. Pay special attention to threaded blind holes, galleries, cavities, drilling etc.
Engine Parts - Alloy and cast iron engine parts, including barrels and heads can be powder coated leading without problems of overheating as some believe. Good quality powder finishes should not suffer any heat degradation damage on air cooled engines under normal conditions.
After aqua blasting and cleaning to remove residue glass bead and water, the engine parts are masked off and made ready for coating.
