Marine Powder Coating Interpon 3 Layer System PZ770 - BPP330

Powder coating is the best way to protect marine parts and boat fixtures from saltwater corrosion. The basic elements of air, water, sunshine, and salt are all extremely corrosive to metals in any marine environment.

Using powder coating to protect your aluminium, stainless steel, and other metal boat parts offers a superior durable finish.

The strength of a powder coated metal finish will protect your boat and marine fixtures in all kinds of weather. Powder coated surfaces are extremely easy to maintain, as well.

Clear coating any marine brasswork or copper fittings means you can preserve their shine and lustre of your boat's metals for much longer without constant buffing and polishing. Powder coating can also be used to colour rails and match other boat parts in various color shades and hues.... see more

Plascoat coating materials for automotive applications

Plascoat PPA 571, PPA 571H and Talisman 30 can be used in a variety of automotive applications, as chassis, suspension and general under body parts. Thermoplastic coatings offer a thick protective layer to the metal and are often used either to protect the underlying e-coat from chip or impact damage or to provide a "cushion" effect for parts that are in contact with each other.

In addition Talisman 30 offers an attractive tough satin finish and is used for the coating of items such as light protectors and lever grips.

Plascoat coating powders will usually pass all standard chip resistance tests (e.g. using SAE J400) at a thickness of between 300 and 500 microns. In addition, of course, they provide excellent corrosion protection from salt, UV and water

Low Fouling Rate of PPA 571

Plascoat PPA 571
Provides little or no ‘anchor’ for plants, fungus or sea creatures.
Provides little or no food for plants or animals.
Is not easy for spores and eggs to stick to.
The rate of growth of algae, mildew, seaweed and barnacles is slower than many other coatings.

Ideal for Marine applications as Out board motors or any metal parts exposed to sea/fresh water environments. see more

Bondi Beach - latest for PPA 571

Plascoat's PPA 571 thermoplastic coating has been chosen to provide corrosion protection for new telephone boxes along one of the most famous beaches in the world - Bondi Beach.

Telstra, Australia's leading telecommunications provider, has recently installed the newly designed boxes and the long term evidence of PPA 571's performance in the filed, has played no small part in this decision.

PPA 571 was the industry's first thermoplastic polymer alloy coating to provide a long-lasting tough coating for exterior applications. PPA 571 has over the years, proved beyond doubt its capability to withstand the harsh effects of coastal salt, intensive UV rays, 100% humidity, dessert winds and rapid temperature fluctuations - key requirements for Telstra's beach-front installations.

Another key feature of PPA 571 critical in such an environment is a coating's ability to offer some protection against graffiti. Telephone boxes have for years been a target. Graffiti paints can easily be removed from the coated surface using either a plain cloth or common solvents.

Water pipes - 11 year test
A long term field test monitored by the Swedish Corrosion Institute has resulted in remarkable findings for functionalised polyolefin alloys such as PPA 571.

After 11 years of being buried in the salty clay soils around Gothenburg six water pipes coated with thermoplastic polyolefin alloys were dug up for examination and were found to be in outstanding condition.

The pipes showed absolutely no rusting, cracking or flaking. In fact all of the test pieces were deliberately damaged before they were laid and the spread of these defects such as scratching, holes and blow marks were also found to be nil.

The Swedish Corrosion Institute has indicated that water pipes in similar conditions, coated with Plascoat PPA 571 would have alifetime of over 200 years.

PPA 571 has been used for water pipes all over the world from snow making in Switzerland to the seaport in the US city of Seattle. It has a wide range of water approvals including NSF61 and conforms to the requirements of FDA food contact.

PPA 571 is available for both fluidised bed and electrostatic spraying. see more
